In Cape Coast’s castle quarter, a heritage institution entrusted Interior Decorators Ghana with the interior restoration of a period building. The conservation brief came first: sound original plaster consolidated rather than stripped, period joinery repaired in place, and only genuinely lost cornice and moulding detail reproduced to the surviving pattern. Materials and finishes were chosen for compatibility with the historic fabric, and each stage was documented so the institution holds a written record of exactly what was conserved, repaired or renewed.
