Why Embassies & Diplomatic Missions Specify Interior Decorators Ghana
An embassy interior is a working instrument of statecraft. The reception hall where credentials are received, the ambassadorial residence where heads of state are entertained, and the offices where confidential business is conducted all have to project the dignity of the sending nation while standing up to constant, high-level scrutiny. The interior is read by every visitor as a statement of the mission itself.
Interior Decorators Ghana has delivered luxury interiors across Cantonments — Accra’s diplomatic quarter — since 1979. That long practice in the city’s embassy district means we understand how a mission actually uses its spaces, the discretion the work demands, and the standard of finish that a diplomatic residence and chancery have to hold across years of continuous use.
What Embassy & Diplomatic Interiors Demand
Diplomatic commissions carry requirements that ordinary residential or corporate work does not.
Discretion & Security Awareness
Embassy work happens behind a confidentiality expectation. We run diplomatic commissions on a need-to-know basis — vetted site teams, controlled access, no photography or publication of secure interiors, and coordination with the mission’s own security protocols around access, sightlines and reception flow. The work proceeds quietly and leaves no public trace.
Representational Finish
A chancery reception hall and an ambassadorial residence are representational spaces — they have to read as the dignity of the sending nation. That calls for considered space planning, restrained high-end finishes, bespoke joinery and a lighting scheme that lifts art and architecture without theatricality.
Space Planning & Reception Flow
Diplomatic spaces are choreographed: arrival, reception, credentials, dining and private quarters each need their own register and a circulation that separates public, official and private zones cleanly. We plan that flow before any finish is drawn.
Finishes, Joinery & Lighting
Wall and ceiling finishes, bespoke joinery — reception desks, panelling, libraries and cabinetry — and a layered lighting design (ambient, accent and feature) are specified together so the rooms read as one composition under both daylight and evening reception conditions.

Our Embassy & Diplomatic Interior Scope
We carry the whole interior under one accountable team — concept, specification, procurement, fit-out and a written handover.
- Ambassadorial Residence Interior — diplomatic and high-security residence interiors, concept to styled handover
- Luxury Interior Design & Fit-Out — full-service design and fit-out for chancery and reception spaces
- Art Curation & Installation — curation, framing and secure hanging of national and acquired collections
- Executive Corporate Floor — office, boardroom and consular-floor fit-out
Standards & Approach
Luxury interior design is a craft and design discipline, not a certification regime — so we do not claim a manufactured standard for it. What we hold to is method: a named project lead, a finishes schedule that fixes every material, controlled procurement, and snagging against the approved design through to a written handover.
Where genuine material standards apply, they are observed in the relevant trade — for example board partitions and dry-lining specified to ASTM C1396 / EN 520, and acoustic treatment to a measured ISO 354 absorption performance where a space requires it. We name a standard only where it is genuinely used; everything else is held to design intent and craft quality.
All cost is quoted on survey. A diplomatic interior can be finished a dozen ways, so a published rate would be a guess — after a survey and an agreed concept we give a fixed, itemised quote.
